Jacob and Kylie's birthday's

For Jacob's 6th birthday he wanted a treasure map cake. So he got a whole pirate party since we we're at Gramma's. Here are all the kids in their pirate get up.He's such a goof ball...
We made a little "treasure hunt" so the big boys read the clue and then the little kids ran after them trying to get the next clue.

At the last clue was the "X" where they had to dig to find....

...and went to a "Golden Guesstarant".

It's a silly dinner where the foods, utensils, drink etc. are all give a funny name. You pick 3 or 4 items for each course. Since you don't really know what the items are you might get a plate for the first course like this...a toothpick, salad dressing, and your drink.

It was fun (once we got Jacob to realize he would get an actual plate of dinner at the end).

Haley's Birthday

Haley wanted Lady bug cupcakes for her birthday. I googled it, combined a few ideas and this is what I came up with (Way better than the ones I tried to do for her first birthday!)....I think they turned out pretty cute. The adults preferred to eat the ones without the red sugar sprinkles but the kids loved them!
Haley's friend Campbell came over to play and eat cake.One of Campbell's brothers came to play with Jacob. These boys love to put on costumes!Opening presents:Haley asked for a baby doll with a paci that really goes in her mouth.As you can tell she was super excited to get it!Our big three year old is 39lbs and 41 inches (at the time of her 3 year apt. not now!)

Long Over Due!

At the end of Jacob and Haley's summer vacation to NM, Jon, Jace and I went to pick them up. We camped in the mountains for a few days. It was so nice to get out of the Texas heat for a bit!

I actually forgot to take my camera (I'm sure you are totally surprised by that) but Jon had our other camera tucked away in the camper so I did get a few pictures taken while we were camping. When got back to Gramma and Grandad's however, I forgot to bring it in the house. Aunt Kelli will be sending me a disc with all of Kylie and Jacob's bday pictures so those will be in a later post.

We tried to get some pictures of the kids and our family while we were all together. Look at this beautiful young lady...can you believe she's 13 already?!

We were not successful at getting a group shot of the 4 kids...

...but we did manage to get a good family shot!

Here are some random pictures from August and September. Haley was including Jace in our tea party one day...

Jacob's first day of school. We didn't have to buy him many school clothes. Since he just seems to grow taller not wider, he was able to wear all his shorts from last year (now that the weather is cooling off we've realized he will need some more pants that aren't high waters). I did take him shopping to pick out a brand new first day of school shirt. This is what he picked:

Haley took matters into her own hands when one of the "screws" came out of her babies high chair. It was just one of the metal pins, bars, (whatever you call it) that goes in the back so it didn't actually need the screw driver. She checked every screw to be sure they were tight because she "doesn't want her baby to fall out"

That's all for now. Jace and Haley had their check-ups with the doctor yesterday. More to come on that later.

The kids are apparently having a ton of fun because they aren't interested in talking to Jon or I on the phone AT ALL! They are now with Gramma and Grandad and we will be heading to get them the end of next week. I miss my kiddos!
