Jacob's eye surgery was done in mid October. The nurses and Dr.'s were great with Jacob. They brought a wagon in for him to be taken to the operating room in. They weren't quite ready for him so they let us take him around the hallways for a ride.
After awhile, he decided that he wanted to pull his bears in the wagon. So he did for a few minutes before the nurses came to get him.
When it was finally time to go to the operating room, he wasn't interested in riding back at all...so instead he just pulled his bears right on back on his own. Such a brave little man he was. He said "bye bye mama" and was off with out a tear.
The surgery was great. It lasted a little less than an hour, and then he slept for about an hour and 1/2 afterwords. He came out of the anesthesia just fine. Fussy for just a few minutes but after cuddling with mommy for a few minutes he calmed down and wanted FOOD!
We got back home and he ate some crackers and starting playing like nothing big deal had happened, what was all the fuss about? His little eyes stayed red for about 2 1/2 weeks. He still had to wear the glasses to help stengthen the muscles that were cut and to keep his fingers out of his eyes.
