Jacob wouldn't let him go. He'd been with out him for over a year and wasn't about to let him out of his site any time soon.
From the moment Jon got home Jacob has wanted to be just like daddy. He does things "like daddy" all the time.
He started wrestling and tickling daddy as soon as he could (it just isn't the same with mommy).
He loves to help with EVERYTHING. We try to let him as much as we can so that when he gets bigger, he'll be used to helping out around the house. Here he is helping Grandad fix the lights on his trailer...
In February Auntie Jenn and her boyfriend Bob came to visit. (Jacob calls them Uncle Jenn and Uncle Bob) We went to Cabelas near Austin and he absolutely loved it!Jacob thought it was the funniest thing watching the fish jump up to get the food that he dropped in for them. And here he is sitting in front of the "BIIIGGG BEAR" as Jacob would say. He's trying to smile and grrrrrr at the same time.
This picture is my favorite by far. What more could there be to smile about? Daddy being home and getting to see all the animals at Cabelas (Jacob LOVES animals). This was taken in front of the huge Cabelas fish tank.
Ok, on to March. An early Easter egg hunt at the park in Gatesville...
...decorating (and eating) sugar cookies with cousin Caleb...
...easter egg dying...
...a new Easter basket from Granny filled with lots of goodies (didn't take long for him to get them all out)...
...another Easter egg hunt....
...several water gun fights...
...and of course one dressed up little man (with a belt that used to be daddy's) on Easter morning.
Which will bring us to some more current photos. Jon had to go to a 2 week school at the end of April/beginning of May. I was supposed to be taking it easy at the time since we had a little scare with the current pregnancy (if you haven't heard about it email me and I will fill you in). So, Granny came for one week....and poor thing was sick the majority of the time so we didn't even think to get any pictures. Then Gramma came for the 2nd week and once again we forgot to take more pictures. Then Caleb and Grandad came to pick Gramma up and we finally remembered to get the cameras out. Here Jacob and Caleb found a snail and they were awe struck by it. Jacob was not happy the next day when his little snail friend was nowhere to be found.
Gramma got a little one ring pool at Walmart for Jacob and Caleb to play in. Jacob had to help blow it up. No there's not two spouts to blow into so Jacob was really just blowing raspberries but he thought he was a big helper! You can see Caleb's little foot sticking out...he was hiding from An Bef (Aunt Beth).
And finally I'll sign off with my very happy 2 1/2 year old who is now potty trained. He likes getting to be a "Big Boy" now and wear his Diego underpants ALL THE TIME! He's even been staying dry through the night most of the time. He's only had a few accidents the last few weeks. I'm sure it's the same with every kid though...he gets too busy playing when friends are over or we are visiting some one and just doesn't want to stop what he's doing to get to the potty. It sure does make things easier on mommy! We're crossing our fingers that this excitement about being a big boy will continue when the new baby comes. We have high hopes that he will be a big helper with the baby just like he is with everything else.
The last five months have been full of fun. I'm sorry I let this get so behind. I will try not to let another 5 months go by before I post again....and will also do my best to remember to get the camera out more often so that I have more to share. For now, I'm headed bed. It was exhausting catching up on the last 5 months! :) Enjoy!
