'Twas the week before Christmas

It was the week before Christmas and the kids and I were home from school/work. Haley and I played but poor Jacob ran fever for the first 4 days. Thankfully that was all he had. He just layed around and watched cartoons and by Wednesday he was finally feeling better. The kids were up long before mommy want them to be up while we were on vacation from school/work. You can see how well they let me sleep a little longer...
They rode their horses.
Haley finally figured out how to crawl out of her crib. Once night we hear little footsteps coming down the hall assuming it would be Jacob trying to get out of going to bed. Nope! It was Haley saying "I no go ni-nite". It was hard not to laugh! She got out a couple more times that night so the next night........she started in her big girl bed in Jacob's room. We had been dreading this because we figured it would be a huge struggle to keep her in the bed before she fell asleep but much to our surprise, we were wrong! She went right to sleep just like she always does and stayed there all night! What a relief!! I'm not sure how little miss will react when we bring a new baby home in April and he gets to sleep in her crib??? Time will tell I suppose.
The kids rearranged the window clings several times a day.
Christmas eve we made and decorated our sugar cookies for Santa. The kids had a ball...
and made a mess!

Here are their Mickey Mouse snowman cookies.
Haley needed some milk to wash it down.

We opened Christmas eve presents (I wonder when they'll catch on that it's always jammies and a book?).

We drank our hot choclate, read The Night Before Christmas and the story of baby Jesus then headed off to bed to wait for Santa.
